Frequently Asked Questions

These are answers to just some of the questions asked by most persons interested in joining.

Who Can Join?

  • We invite any individual of sound character interested in learning the traditional art of Shotokan karate to join.
  • Any traditional Shotokan dojo seeking international affiliation may apply.

How Can I Join?

  • You can call or visit the dojo on any of the training days for a free trial class.
  • When your mind is made up, all we need is a completed application form along with the membership dues.

 When can I get started?

  • You can get started at anytime, there is no fixed enrollment period. 
  • For persons under the age of eighteen, parental consent is needed.

 What do I need?

  • For the first few weeks you are allowed to practice in a t-shirt and track pants, after that you will need to get your gi (uniform).

Can I watch a class before I make a decision?

  • You are welcomed to come to the dojo on any of our training days and view our class.
  • Or take part in a free trial class before making a final commitment.
